One day, when I accidentally saw a makeup table of my wife’s sister, I was able to see a lot of makeup products that I didn’t even know. After seeing that, I realized how many makeup products our generation is using now. Various factors drive the use of these products, such as social media, beauty awareness, etc. Also, the rise in online shopping is one of the reasons as well. The rise in working women also led to an increase in the sales of cosmetics. There is a belief that a person’s appearance will boost self-confidence, so this can also be a factor.

Overusing these artificial makeup products will affect your skin as you age, and there are environmental concerns regarding packaging waste and the use of unsustainable ingredients. Due to the presence of surprising array of chemicals in the personal care products there are potential side effects. Not all chemicals are dangerous, but many have been researched and found to be potentially harmful to human health. Some of the problems caused by the overuse of the cosmetic products will lead to many problems such as thyroid disruption, breast cancer, abnormal growth and development, high blood pressure.

Many heavy metals such as lead, mercury and aluminium were present in the cosmetic products. Lead is present in lipsticks and high levels of lead in blood are associated with decreased kidney function. Some beauty and personal care products contain small quantities of known cancer-causing chemicals and it is a concern if you use the product every day.

Each of us have desire to dye our hair with different colors. But before applying any color you need to be aware of the types of hair color and how bad things can get. It is possible there may be a negative outcome from hair coloring. If you feel hair color is safe, it all depends on the type of products you choose. Most dyes have various chemicals like Ammonia, Hydrogen Peroxide and those will affect the outer layer known as cuticle. Some people will also face allergic reaction on using hair dye. It can also cause hair loss and hair damage. Inhalation of the chemicals can also cause respiratory problems like asthma.
